I gotta tell you about my experience with the “Investigating Windows Endpoints” training course by Richard Davis from 13Cubed. Let me start by saying it’s freaking awesome! Seriously, it’s as good as those pricey trainings from other places. And let me tell you, Richard is an absolute legend. He’s super helpful, like I can’t even explain how much.
From the moment I bought the course, Richard was there to answer all my questions and provide support. Even after I finished the exam, he was still helping me out, answering my dumb questions. It’s incredible. Taking this course has hands down been one of the best decisions I’ve made.
The course is all about getting hands-on, which is the way to go. Richard’s teaching technique is top-notch. He starts by giving you an overview of the topic and then dives into it using basic tools. Like for the registry stuff, he starts with reg-edit and then jumps into Eric Zimmerman’s registry explorer. It’s a killer approach that really helps you understand the material.
What I found super helpful was watching the training videos first and then watching them again on YouTube to take notes. I used Notion to create notes for each topic, and it worked like a charm. Oh, and Richard even hooked us up with some cheatsheets that are crazy comprehensive.
Now, let’s talk about the exam. Man, it was no joke. There were around 60 theoretical multiple-choice questions and 20 practical ones. It was tough, but you know what? I nailed it on my first try and got a golden badge! Boom! No time limit, but I won’t lie, it took me a whole day to finish it. It’s like a real-life investigation, man.

The only downside I can think of is that there’s no feedback. I get it, they don’t want to leak questions, but it would’ve been cool to know how I did on the theory and practical parts. Maybe some suggestions on what to study more based on the exam results. But hey, it’s a small thing compared to how amazing the training is.
I can’t stress this enough, Richard is the real deal. He’s such a busy guy, but he always responds with detailed messages. He’s friendly, patient, and genuinely helpful. I can’t recommend this course enough, my friend. It’s not just a course, it’s an experience. So go ahead and check it out. You won’t regret it. Trust me.
